Our 21-speed conventional bike & e-bike rentals offer the perfect solution for families and solo adventurers alike, providing a comfortable and fun way to experience the park.
Here’s How It Works:
Choose Your Bike:
- 21-Speed Conventional Bikes: All are equipped with water bottle cages and many have comfortable gel seats.
- Family Options: Wide selection of children’s bikes, trailers, and tag-along attachments to cater to families.
- E-Bikes: Equipped with high-capacity batteries and comfortable, ergonomic seats.
Gear Up and Go:
- Free helmets are included in your rental.
- Ride 1.7 miles to the Carriage Roads directly from our shop located at 106 Cottage St in Bar Harbor.
- Or, take the Bicycle Express shuttle (available June 23 – September 30) to the north side of Eagle Lake.
Enjoy The Ride:
- In case of a flat tire or mechanical issue, our mechanic team is on duty all day to assist you.

Electric Bike Rental Requirements
- Minimum height of 4’10” (We measure if it’s close! This is for your comfort, too.)
- If a rider is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by an adult at all times. (Proof of age is required.)
- *We reserve the right to cancel a reservation at our discretion if we are not convinced that you are able to safely ride an e-bike. Should we exercise this right, a full refund will be given for that rider only.
- You must be able to ride a bike; These are class I pedal assist bikes but they do require pedaling from the rider.
- E-Bikes must be ridden directly from Acadia Outfitters at 106 Cottage Street. They may not be transported (this includes in or on vehicles, trailers, or bike racks).
- If you are renting for more than one day, E-Bikes must be returned at the end of each day for proper maintenance and battery charging.
- Our Electric Bikes suit people whose heights range from 4’10”- 6’6″ (149-178 cm). If you are outside of this height range, please give us a call at (207) 801-9086 before making a reservation.
- Electric Bike rentals are rain or shine.
Pricing
- $99 for the full day, 9-5
- Child trailers: $24
- Half-days: $65
- Reservations are recommended, but we do take walk-ins based on availability. Half-days are on a walk-in basis only and reservations are only accepted for full-day rentals.
Conventional Bike Rental Requirements
- Bike Rentals are picked up from Acadia Bike at 48 Cottage Street.
- OUR TRUNK-MOUNTED BIKE RACKS ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO FIT ON ALL VEHICLES. Call (207) 288-9605 to book a trunk-mounted bike rack.
- From our shop, you can ride the 1.7 miles directly into the park, or you can take the Bicycle Express Shuttle which drops people and their bikes directly to the North end of the Eagle Lake Carriage Road Loop. The shuttle runs between June 23 and September 30.
- In case of flat tires or mechanical difficulties, we have a service team on duty all day.
- All riders must have an Acadia National Park pass. One vehicle pass covers up to 4 riders on bikes.
- Do not put bikes in the back of your vehicle. This may cause damage to the bikes and we do not want you to have to pay additional fees.
- If you’d like to pick-up your bike the afternoon prior to the day of your rental, come by our shop between 4:00-4:30 and pay $10 per item to start your ride early.
- Bike rentals are rain or shine.
